I think, for a better international exchange and the benefit of the economics in the whole European Union, the Internet should of course be a free market for everyone.
It is clear that we still have to maintain some controls to stop abuse in any form, but the eu-commissioners should get a more open mind on that topic.
But still we should not forget that his days in the US there are much stricter rules getting executed, the SOPA. Online Piracy is a bad thing of course, and should be fought as soon as possible. But this restrictions are narrowing the peoples right much too far, and the EU should really look carefully at the outcome of that restrictions in the next months.
About your article, in modern societies where e-Democracy should dominate, the filtering or censorship of sites is not at all desirable and turns the societies in the past. Of course though, child pornography or terrorist sites shouldn't be launched in the web-market like an absolutely normal choice.
